AS Monaco did well to battle out a 0-0 draw at Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday, in an interesting Champions League Group C clash.
Zenit did most of the attacking, but their forwards - Hulk and Salomon Rondon - were kept at bay by a well-drilled Monaco defence. Veteran sub Aleksandar Kerzhakov twice came close to breaking the deadlock towards the end, but Monaco just managed to hold out.
The draw left both teams with four points from two games, with Zenit top thanks to a better goal difference. Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica will be looking for their first points in the group's other match, later on Wednesday.
Wednesday will also see holders Real Madrid at Ludogorets, plus Atletico Madrid at home to Juventus and Borussia Dortmund at Anderlecht.
